Chance to Shine - Educating through Cricket

Chance to Shine - Educating through Cricket

We are delighted that the Eric Evans Memorial Trust chose to support Chance to Shine and would like to thank you for your kind donation.

Last year, nearly 400,000 children in 3,000 state schools enjoyed competitive cricket through our core programme with an incredible 100,000 hours of quality coaching delivered in schools by our Chance to Shine coaches.

As at the end of 2009 with your generous support we have raised £17.9 million towards the £25 million required for the initial 10 year programme of Chance to Shine.

I am delighted to inform you that we have aligned the Chance to Shine Cambridgeshire Disability project to your donation, which offers coaching to five schools in the area. This project is specifically focussed on disability, meaning that over one thousand visually and physically impaired children will benefit from your generosity through Chance to Shine.

Once again we would like to thank the Eric Evans Memorial Trust for choosing to support Chance to Shine.

Tennis For Free

The donation from Eric Evans trust to TFF has enabled two additional tennis communities to be created (Ipswich and London Borough of Sutton).

This kind donation will create more than 900 new tennis players from under-privileged communities that will receive free coaching and optional NVQ accredited training to become Tennis Coach Assistants. Without this donation this new programme would not be possible.

More details about the free community coaching programme can be seen from this 4minute Channel 4 clip:

Greenhouse - Sport & Performing Arts

Greenhouse - Sport & Performing Arts

On behalf of everyone at Greenhouse, thank you to you and all those who donated to the Eric Evans Memorial Trust appeal for your wonderful support and your donation of £10,000.

We would very much like to put the funds you generously raised towards our football programme in Peckham - Greenhouse Bethwin SE Football Club.

The club is situated between two of the most notorious estates in South London and uses football as a self development tool, tackling a wide range of social and community issues. Your support will help guide disadvantaged young people (8 -21yrs) in South East London away from negative cycles, reducing anti-social behaviour through the active citizenship ethos of the club.

Through their participation, the young people taking part benefit from developing respect, self-awareness, confidence, self-esteem, social and communication skills, raising their aspirations and improving their life chances as positively contributing members of society.

The club engages with over 500 members in 26 teams - making it one of the largest competitive community clubs in the UK. Our open door policy means the club is accessible to everyone regardless of their physical, social or economic policy - meaning the demand for those whom have little opportunity to engage in positive activities like this and access positive role models is endless.

With many thanks once again for your much valued support.
